Data Governance Officer, Banking (~70k/y, Helsinki-FI, HYBRID)

Do you thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment? Join our customer team as a consultant in the banking sector. 

We're looking for a data governance officer to manage and oversee the organization's data assets to ensure they meet standards for quality, accessibility, security, and compliance with regulations and policies.

Main duties include:

  • Data quality management: ensuring information is accurate, complete, consistent, and trustworthy
  • Metadata management: documenting data definitions, lineage, and business context
  • Implementing data governance: applying policies, standards, and procedures
  • Managing access controls: regulating who can access specific data and for what reasons
  • Monitoring compliance: making sure data handling follows regulatory requirements
  • Resolving data issues: addressing problems related to data quality or access
  • Collaborating across functions: working with IT, business teams, and leadership
  • Promoting data literacy: enabling the organization to understand and use data appropriately

The data stewards act as a link between technical and business stakeholders, making sure that data supports organizational goals while being properly managed throughout its lifecycle.

Must-have knowledge and experience

  • Good SQL knowledge
  • Power BI knowledge
  • Experience in ETL processes and data sets
  • Knowledge on data modelling for data warehouse
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis on data and processes
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Relevant University degree

Good-to-have knowledge and experience

  • Data Governance experience

Location: Hybrid – 2–3 days/week onsite at customer office in Helsinki

Allocation: 100%

Language: Fluent in English
