Join our interesting ongoing customer development project!
Are you a visionary Frontend Architect ready to build an innovative, large-scale, framework-agnostic micro-frontend platform for the public sector? Join a mission-critical domain where your work will directly impact citizens and shape the future of UI architecture across multiple development teams.
The Opportunity
You will be the core technical leader within a hands-on Enterprise Architecture (EA) team, partnering closely with talented designers. Your mandate is clear: enforce a standards-based, interoperable UI architecture across 5–6 development teams (including an offshore vendor) to ensure predictable integration, clear contracts, and consistent component interoperability.
This is a long-running, significant domain where impact is measured in the long term.
Your Responsibilites
- Own the Architecture: Define, evolve, and champion the front-end architecture blueprint, ensuring its consistent adoption across all development teams.
- Drive Web Standards: Act as the expert champion for W3C web standards and Web Components (Shadow DOM, Custom Events, Navigation API) to make independently built UIs work seamlessly together.
- Define Contracts: Specify interfaces, integration patterns, and align with backend teams (Java/Quarkus) to maintain system integrity.
- Hands-on Contribution: Contribute to shared, reusable components and provide architectural guidance and reviews for framework-agnostic implementations.
- Enable Teams: Run bi-weekly architecture syncs, facilitate discussions, and actively drive improvement items onto team backlogs.
- Design Collaboration: Collaborate daily with designers to translate UX intent into robust component and integration designs.
- Light Project Management: Manage architectural initiatives to ensure consistent progress.
Your Key Skills
- Deep Web Standards: Proven expertise and comfort with Web Components, Shadow DOM, Custom Events, Navigation API, and ideally Module Federation.
- Framework Fluency: A strong grounding in Angular is essential. Experience with Lit is a significant advantage.
- Ecosystem Knowledge: Experience with Node.js for tooling and understanding of backend alignment (primarily Java/Quarkus).
- Architectural Mindset: Ability to work framework-agnostically with a focus on strict component contracts and clear architectural boundaries.
- Communication & Facilitation: Clear, assertive communication and excellent facilitation skills are critical for success in a large, process-heavy public organization.
- Language: Excellent English is mandatory. Finnish is a nice-to-have.
